Nestled between the Lakes Region and the White Mountains, Purity Spring Resort offers incredible views in every direction. Established in 1911, the resort has been owned and operated by the Hoyt family through five generations. Between the King Pine Ski Area, cross-country and snowshoe trails, Pine Meadows Tubing Park, and Tohko Dome Skating Rink, there's no shortage of winter outdoor activities. Prepare for the slopes at the Mill Pool & Fitness area, which includes weights and cardio equipment.
- Lord Camden Inn - 24 Main St., Camden, ME 04843
With rooms as elegant as the name, Lord Camden Inn has been welcoming guests for more than 30 years. The decor at the dog-friendly boutique hotel is a beautiful blend of old-world brick walls and contemporary marble and granite surfaces. While the inn is in the heart of downtown, providing easy access to shopping and restaurants, you're just minutes from Camden Snow Bowl, one of Maine's favorite outdoor recreation areas. Thanks to its seaside location, the Snow Bowl is the only East Coast ski area that offers ocean views with winter sports. The facility also includes a toboggan chute that's the site of the annual national championship.
- Woodstock Inn & Resort - 14 The Green, Woodstock, VT 05091
Billed as "Vermont's Most Beautiful Address," Woodstock Inn & Resort has roots in the local community dating back to 1793. That was the year Richardson Tavern became one of the town's first lodging facilities, undergoing ownership changes and upgrades throughout the years, culminating in today's luxury resort. The terrain accommodates skiers and snowboarders of all ages and levels of experience. If you prefer a workout on more level ground, Woodstock Nordic Center features several miles of trails for cross-country, snowshoeing, and fat-bike riding.
- Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa - 1746 Mountain Rd., Stowe, VT 05672
After a visit to the cleverly named Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa, you'll understand why Stowe is known as the "Ski Capital of the East." More than 50 years after Stuart Baraw, Sr. and wife Beatrice purchased three acres of farmland for their weekend ski trips, three generations of their family-run the world-class resort. During the summer, Stoweflake is known for its famous hot-air balloon festival, but in winter, the spotlight turns to towering Mount Mansfield and its first-rate skiing and snowboarding. Get a whole new perspective with a dogsled, snowmobile, or moonlight snowshoe tour.
- Omni Mount Washington Resort - 310 Mount Washington Hotel Rd., Bretton Woods, NH 03575
When it's going big or go home, head to Omni Mount Washington Resort. The spectacular hotel, built at the turn of the 20th century, has hosted guests such as Thomas Edison. In 1986, the Department of the Interior designated Mount Washington Hotel as a National Historic Landmark. Fittingly, the resort is in Bretton Woods, the largest ski area in New Hampshire. In addition to 464 acres of skiing and snowboarding, Bretton Woods boasts the state's only eight-passenger Skyway gondola, which ferries guests between the slopes and the breathtaking Rosebrook Lodge.
- Jordan Hotel - 27 Grand Circle, Newry, ME 04261
Are you so passionate about skiing that you grow impatient riding a ski lift? Jordan Hotel is situated slopeside in Sunday River, providing true ski-in/ski-out access on the Lollapalooza trail. Green trails are plentiful across the eight peaks of Sunday River, making it a popular family-friendly destination. Other kid-favorite features include free entertainment such as magic shows, fireworks, and appearances by Eddie and Betty the Yetis. But experienced skiers will also find lots to love, especially White Heat, the 3,665-foot-long double black diamond run that is regularly named as one of the top runs in the country.
- Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel - 5092 Sugarloaf Access Rd., Carrabassett Valley, ME 04947
Rustic meets elegant at Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel, located in the center of Maine's largest winter sports area. The majestic hotel's design was inspired by classic New England farmhouses, while the contemporary amenities, including a 30-person outdoor hot tub, are first-class. Sugarloaf's expansive terrain features trails to suit all abilities, but expert skiers are drawn to the high-Alpine snowfields, and their numerous double black diamond runs. Sugarloaf is the only ski area in Maine to offer lift-serviced terrain above the treeline. In March 2022, the mountains will once again be alive with the sound of the islands as the hugely popular Reggae Fest makes its return April 7-10.
