New England Ski

New Hampshire's mountains: they're not just for winter. When it comes to summer fun, our real estate agents head for the hills and all the entertaining activities found at these wonderful local mountain resorts.

  • Bretton Woods - 99 Ski Area Rd., Bretton Woods, NH 03575
It's up, up, and away into the breathtaking heights of the Adventure Center at Bretton Woods. Get an unforgettable view of the lush White Mountains with a three-hour zipline tour that starts at the top of Rosebrook Canyon. Take on the West Wall rock climbing route or join the guides on an invigorating hike or mountain bike ride. If you prefer solid ground, take part in golf, fly fishing, or tennis. Ride the Skyway Gondola up to Rosebrook Lodge for a leisurely lunch, or just enjoy the views. Can't bear to leave? Spend the night at the luxurious Omni Mount Washington Resort.

  • Cranmore Mountain Resort - 1 Skimobile Rd., North Conway, NH 03860
Don't be fooled by the address. Cranmore Mountain Resort is just as much fun during summer as it is during winter. The main attraction is Mountain Adventure Park, with rides such as the Mountain Coaster, a 2,390-foot thrill ride through the woods where you control the speed. Little ones love the bounce houses, climbing wall, and Spyder Mountain, a 30-foot inflatable slide. Road warriors can hit the family-friendly Cranmore Mountain Bike Park, with terrain suitable for all ages and skill levels. A seven-minute chairlift ride takes you to the summit for lunch at historic Meister Hut, or pack your own picnic basket. The park is open from Memorial Day through Columbus Day. Admission is $39-$49.

  • Black Mountain - 373 Black Mountain Rd., Jackson, NH 03846
While other resorts offer hiking and mountain biking, guests at Black Mountain explore the stunning landscape from the back of a horse. No experience is needed for these one-hour guided rides that proceed at a comfortable walking pace. For kids aged 9 and under, gentle ponies take them on a 10-minute ride around the base area. The resort also features traditional hiking trails if you want to continue viewing the countryside. Horseback riding and pony rides are available through mid-October by reservation only. Prices are $70 per person for group rides, $130 per person for private rides, and $25 for pony rides. Black Mountain is open daily from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

  • Mount Sunapee - 1398 Route 103, Newbury, NH 03255
No matter what your age, you'll feel like a kid at Mount Sunapee, a giant playground for the whole family. Travel through the trees on the aerial challenge course, practice your bow and arrow skills on the archery course, and take part in some friendly competition with disc or miniature golf. Add variety to your fitness routine with hiking, mountain biking, or yoga with a view. Kids aged 8-14 can learn new techniques and tricks at the two-week mountain bike camps. Play-All-Day-Packages include access to Sunapee State Park Beach for a refreshing post-activity dip. Save $4 when you purchase online. Hours are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday from June 18 - September 5.

  • Waterville Valley Resort - 1 Ski Area Rd., Waterville Valley, NH 03215
Winter is never quite over at Waterville Valley Resort. Work on your spins and jumps at the indoor ice arena, which is open for public skating along with stick and puck sessions. Nestled deep in the forest and surrounded by mountains, Waterville Valley is considered by many to be the loveliest of New Hampshire's summer ski resort locations. See for yourself as you enjoy hiking, biking, boating, golf, tennis, and outdoor yoga. Waterville Valley is also known for the multitude of sparkling waterfalls that inspired the area's name.

  • Gunstock Mountain Resort - 719 Cherry Valley Rd., Gilford, NH 03249
Defy gravity at New England's largest aerial obstacle course, the signature attraction at Gunstock Mountain Resort. An incredible 90 challenges, including log ladders, footbridges, and seesaws, are sprinkled within the eight rope courses. Kids aged 6-11 can join the fun on the scaled-down Explorer Course. Get an extra jolt of adrenaline with a ride on the Mountain Coaster, with two-person carts that ride the rails around corners, down drops, and through 360° turns. On June 25-26, the resort hosts Gunstock TrailFest, featuring nine running races, on-site camping, BBQ, and live music.

  • Loon Mountain Resort - 60 Loon Mountain Rd., Lincoln, NH 03251
Channel your inner Indiana Jones in the glacial caves of Loon Mountain Resort. Carved by granite boulders during the last Ice Age, the caves are hidden below the mountain's summit. There's also plenty to do above ground, with hiking, biking, disc golf, and Gondola Skyrides on New Hampshire's longest gondola ride. Don't miss the Adventure Center for high-flying thrills on ziplines, climbing walls, and bungee trampolines. Summer activities run through mid-October.

Is summer the time to make the move to a New Hampshire home of your own? Contact us at The Masiello Group to get started.
