Monadnock Region

New Hampshire's Monadnock Region is a unique place that offers a little something for everyone. Centered around the looming peak of Mount Monadnock, the region is a hub for outdoor adventure and recreation. It's also a great place to do a little shopping.

With its picturesque small towns and quintessential New England charm, the Monadnock Region is one of our real estate agents' favorite areas for shopping. Countless shops and boutiques offer unique selections of crafts, antiques, clothing, tasty treats, and other goodies that only New Hampshire can provide!

  • Cheshire Curio Shop - 249 Monadnock Hwy, Swanzey, NH 03446
You'll find no shortage of antique stores in the Monadnock Region, but Swanzey's Cheshire Curio Shop is consistently one of the best. They maintain an excellent and ever-changing selection of classic furniture and décor, with new arrivals coming in every week. And while the finds here are always vintage, this is no junk shop. The furniture at Cheshire Curio Shop is always in remarkable condition, including items that are as much as 100 years old.

  • Stonewall Farm - 242 Chesterfield Rd, Keene, NH 03431
There aren't a lot of places quite like Stonewall Farm. In addition to being an education, recreation, and event center, it's also a working dairy farm, one of the few that remain in the Monadnock Region. The farm hosts a wide range of events, including summer camps and weddings, and also offers 6 miles of recreational trails. A real highlight is the farm stand, where you can purchase organic produce and dairy products grown and made right here on the farm, as well as other local goods like honey, coffee, and snacks.

  • Depot Square - 20 Depot St, Peterborough, NH 03458
Nestled alongside the River Walk in the town of Peterborough, Depot Square is a charming block of local, owner-operated shops in what has been called one of America's best small towns to visit. Depot Square features more than a dozen local shops offering everything from apothecary goods and jewelry to books and home décor. There are also several excellent eateries in the square, including the beautiful Waterhouse Restaurant.

  • Hannah Grimes Marketplace - 42 Main St, Keene, NH 03431
A one-of-a-kind place in the heart of Keene's Main Street, Hannah Grimes Marketplace is a true "localvore" store. That is to say, it's a great place to find stuff that was made right here in Southwestern New Hampshire. Here you'll find jewelry from local jewelers, honey from local beekeepers, beer from local brewers, art by local artists, and much, much more. If you're looking for real Monadnock maple syrup, Hannah Grimes Marketplace is the place to find it!

  • Hidden Treasures Flea Market - 876 W Swanzey Rd RT10, Swanzey, NH 03446
You truly never know what you'll find at Hidden Treasures Flea Market, but you can count on a few surprises! Offering a broad array of new, used, and vintage goods from multiple vendors, this is the kind of place that is simply a joy to explore. A family-owned business for multiple generations, Hidden Treasures is an indoor flea market where everyone is welcome, and the prices are always reasonable.

  • Life is Sweet Candy Store - 32 Central Square, Keene, NH 03431
If you have a sweet tooth, be warned—you might have a hard time leaving Life is Sweet Candy Shop. This place on Keene's Central Square is a quintessential old-fashioned candy shop, offering a dizzying array of candies and confections. From bulk candy and old-fashioned candies to unique specialty items and hard-to-find brands, this place pretty much has it all. Life is Sweet Candy Shop also carries some great local cookies and cupcakes.

  • The Toadstool Bookshop - 12 Emerald St, Keene, NH 03431
A staple of the Monadnock Region since 1973, The Toadstool Bookshop is one of the best places in Southwestern New Hampshire to find some great new reading material. Their shelves are lined with classics, new releases, and staff picks, and the friendly folks who work here are always happy to help you find just what you're looking for. In addition to their Keene location, The Toad Bookshop also has a second location in Peterborough, and both shops frequently host events like book clubs and author readings.

  • Nature's Green Grocer - 374 Union St, Peterborough, NH 03458
Nestled in the community of Peterborough, Nature's Green Grocer is one of the best places in the Monadnock region to do your grocery shopping.
