Quechee Vermont

The charming sights and attractions of Quechee are just made for a beautiful summer day. Our real estate agents share their list of cant-miss spots to include on your visit.

  • Quechee Gorge - 5966 Woodstock Rd., Quechee, VT 05059
Known as "Vermont's Little Grand Canyon," Quechee Gorge is perhaps the most majestic natural feature in the state. Take Instagram-ready photos from the 168-foot heights of the Ottaquetchee Bridge and hike pet-friendly trails that traverse the mile-long gorge. Kids love trying their luck at finding gemstones in the panning sluice. The family-owned gift shop is the oldest one in Vermont. Admission is free, and the gorge is open 24/7.

  • Simon Pearce - 1760 Quechee Main St., Quechee, VT 05059
Some of the world's finest glassware is made right in Quechee at Simon Pearce. Their flagship store includes a studio where you can watch glass-blowers create exquisite pieces while offering helpful explanations of the process. There's also an onsite farm-to-table restaurant and bar that serves lunch and dinner Wednesday through Sunday. With a dining room offering views of the Ottaquetchee River waterfall and covered bridge, Simon Pearce was voted as one of "America's Most Romantic Restaurants" by Travel + Leisure. Store hours are 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday.

  • Vermont Toy Museum - 5575 Woodstock Rd., Quechee, VT 05059
Kids of all ages experience a sense of wonder once they enter the Vermont Toy Museum. The incredible collection of nearly 100,000 items includes nearly every type of toy imaginable, such as dolls, lunchboxes, and Matchbox cars. Most of the toys, which are organized and displayed by decade, were contributed by members of the community. The highlight is an intricate model train exhibit with tracks that pass through layouts of all four seasons, as experienced in Vermont. Museum hours are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily, and admission is $4.

  • Quechee Segway Tours - 5573 Woodstock Rd., Quechee, VT 05059
Explore Quechee the efficient, eco-friendly way, perched on a two-wheeler from Quechee Segway Tours. Choose from a two-hour historical tour or a 90-minute nature tour. Along the way, a knowledgeable guide tells fascinating stories about Quechee's past, including its history with railroads and factory mills. Prefer to go it alone? Rent a Segway by the hour.

  • WhistlePig Tasting Room - 1792 Quechee Main St., Quechee, VT 05001
How can you resist a spot called WhistlePig Tasting Room? Once the most popular spirit in America, rye whiskey fell out of favor post-Prohibition. About 15 years ago, a group of rye enthusiasts turned a 150-year-old dairy near the White Mountains into a distillery. WhistlePig's innovative team finds unique ways to add contemporary touches to this traditional spirit. For example, Siren's Song features tasting notes of orange blossom, cinnamon, and figs. Tasting room hours are noon - 9 p.m. every day but Tuesday.

  • Vermont Antique Mall - 5573 Woodstock Rd., Quechee, VT 05059
If you're not careful, you may find yourself browsing the booths in Vermont Antique Mall for hours. The 17,000-square-foot barn is home to the largest assembly of sellers in the area, filling hundreds of booths with their antique, vintage, and collectible items. As dedicated shoppers at the mall over several years, owners Cindy and Mark Walker jumped at the opportunity when the mall went up for sale. With inventory changing constantly, there are always new treasures to find. Vermont Antique Mall is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

  • Inn at Clearwater Pond - 984 Quetchee-Hartland Rd., Quechee, VT 05001
Enjoy all the comfort of home without any of the work when you stay at the Inn at Clearwater Pond. Set on seven picturesque acres of meadows and rolling hills, the inn blends the coziness of a traditional B&B with the elegance of a four-star hotel. The five suites and rooms, each with their own decor, feature a variety of amenities such as sitting rooms, TVs, private bathrooms, and designer linens. Some of the rooms are dog-friendly, so you don't have to leave Fido behind. A generous continental breakfast of fresh fruit, pastries, eggs, granola bars, yogurt, juices, coffee, and tea is offered each morning. Rates start at $198 per night.

  • The Public House - 5813 Woodstock Rd., Quechee, VT 05059
The Public House combines the casual, friendly ambiance of a neighborhood tavern with a creative food menu that might be found at an upscale restaurant. You'll have a hard time choosing from dishes such as lobster macaroni & cheese, smoked bacon salmon, and their signature chicken schnitzel. Even the burgers are inventive, with options like Brad's Angry Burger, topped with Cajun seasoning, caramelized onions, pepper jack cheese, smoked bacon, and a fried egg. There's a full selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as well as a family-friendly kids' menu. Lunch is served starting at 11:30 a.m. Thursday through Saturday, while dinner is available beginning at 4 p.m. every day but Sunday.
